What you eat can help you score dates online! Eating certain foods could triple your chances of making a match on freemeet.
"Avocado-loving young man seeks young woman to share some guacamole." That is literally the kind of line you might use to flirt online.
According to the dating site Zoosk, what we eat helps us score messages on dating apps.
Millions of profiles analyzed
Zoosk analyzed roughly 3.7 million profiles and over 363 million messages. The goal: to understand the connection between food mentions and singles' interactions. Keep in mind, we aren't talking about fancy, specific meals here, but rather everyday staple foods.
Out of all the foods tracked, the avocado comes out on top—likely thanks to its trendy status and heavy presence in cooking videos. On the losing end, we find the eggplant down by 21%, while the one food you should definitely avoid mentioning is the sweet potato: your chances of getting a first message plummet by 70%! Then again, how often do people actually put in their bio that they're die-hard sweet potato fans?
Food = Better flirting odds
What can we take away from this? It turns out that admitting you love to eat sends a positive vibe. Foodies and cooking enthusiasts definitely catch people's eyes more than others. The moral of the story is: don't hesitate to talk about food in your profile, and you'll see your chances of getting a first message shoot up by 82%!
